Environmental Policy and Law
CENTER for SUSTAINABILITY AND GLOBAL CHANGE

Students Take to Capitol Hill
Environmental Policy and Law majors are hound dogs for information. They have tireless energy for interviewing, networking and discovering new or hidden angles to complex problems and topics. They never stop asking “Why?” They read and write and talk with great energy. They are comfortable with science.

Environmental Policy and Law majors are deeply concerned with society’s ever-changing relationship to the environment. They are both critical of and believers in government and its practices and processes. They have a mind for law and a knack for negotiation. They are advocates at heart and have sharp analytical skills. They want to change the world and understand that it’s difficult to do.

Is this you?
Student InterviewWould you walk right up to a Senator and introduce yourself? Would you be able to articulate the reasons why climate change is an international concern in sixty seconds or less? Could you stay up all night reviewing a political candidate’s voting record? Are you willing to delve into different sides of an issue with equal abandon? Can you be objective in researching topics on which you have strong feelings? Do you believe that it is critical to work toward better policies to better care for the Earth?

If yes, an Environmental Policy and Law major is for you.
