Services Available to Students

Computer Labs and Clusters

In addition to computers in each residence hall, a computer lab is available to students in Koons Hall and the Activities Building A side. Other computers are available in the Library and the Learning Resource Center.

Email

Each student receives an email account upon enrollment at Unity College for their personal use while enrolled at Unity College.

Students are responsible for all activity from their account including someone else’s activity. Because of this it is imperative that students keep their passwords confidential and never lend their account to another person. Students, in their communications, may not pretend to be anyone else or represent the college in any official capacity. Students may not use their e-mail accounts for any activities that produce income.

Internet Access

Each student may access the Internet from any public workstation in the Labs or Library.  For students with their own personal computers, wireless connections are available in most buildings as well as a wired connection in the residence halls.

Residence Hall Room Data Connections

Wired and wireless network connections are available in all residence hall rooms.  These services allow students to connect to the campus network and the Internet with a personal computer running TCP/IP software.  Both the wired and wireless networks are connected to a campus fiber optic network and multiple T1's to the Internet.

Computer network connections are provided as part of the student's technology fee.  To connect via a wire, students must provide a cat5 ethernet cable.  To connect via wireless, students must provide a wireless interface that operates in 802.11g mode and is capable of WPA/TKIP.  Ethernet cables and wireless cards may be purchased in the Unity College bookstore or any computer supplies store.   For more information, send e-mail to the help desk.
