This month's HerStory speaker is Amy Darcangelo. She is currently the Assistant Professor of Wildlife Care and Education at Unity College. Amy's wildlife experience includes educational presentations at Disney's Animal Kingdom and the Northeastern Wisconsin Zoo. | Patti Irish is currently a videographer in Maine, capturing on film the life of the marine environment. She will be sharing her adventures with many different types of fish and aquatic life. Patti was previously a classroom teacher for elementary to high school aged children. She has traveled all around the world with expeditions, and has shared her photos and stories with many people. She has experience with a variety of environmental studies for the Maine Department of Marine Resources - Stock Enhancement Division. WE LEAD student Stephenie McGarvey will share her experiences working with Jessica this past summer. Berneice Anderson is Patrol Commander for the Forest Service's Eastern Region, which covers 20 states. She holds degrees in criminal justice and sociology, and previously worked as a Law Enforcement officer in the Wayne National Forest (Ohio) and Shawnee National Forest (Illinois). Berneice has also served on the Regional Multicultural Team as the coordinator for the African American Special Emphasis Program. After graduating from Unity in 1993 Kim Boggiatto earned a M.S. in Environmental Policy from the University of Wisconsin, worked for Earth Justice in Colorado, graduated from University of Maine Law School and now works for a Portland Maine law firm. | |
| She specializes in the areas of land use, municipal and environmental law. Kim serves as the Media/Legislative chair of the Women’s Law Section of the Maine State Bar. She also does pro bono work for the Conservation Law Foundation and the Penobscot Bay Alliance. more | |
