Enjoy a cup of coffee or juice while you wait for New Student Orientation to begin.

All students check in at the library, receive their info packets, and have an opportunity to check on other student and local services (internet, banking, health, etc.)

Convocation Address
President Mitchell Thomashow welcomes the incoming class and their families

"This is Who We Are"
Director of Admissions Kay Fiedler and Vice President for Academic Affairs Amy Knisley introduce the incoming class by describing the unique qualities of these students and the community they are joining. Dean Gary Zane emcees the raising of the new diversity flags.

Induction Ceremony: "Planting Roots"
Students take part in a tree-planting ceremony with the Dean for Student Affairs Gary Zane and Student Government Association President William Hafford. Students learn the Unity College cheer. (Location TBA)

Stop by the centre to see the latest addition to the Unity College campus and enjoy a coffee and a snack for the road. Meet with President Thomashow and members of the faculty and pick up a schedule for upcoming Family & Friends Day.

Meet with campus ambassadors to learn about the day's options and how to find out what's happening during the semester. CUPPS (Can't Use Paper, Plastic, Styrofoam) mugs will be handed out.

Wellness/Fitness Smorgasbord
Biking with the prez, jogging with the dean, Fitness Center intro, Pilates workout, yoga session, archery intro, mindfulness meditation, library tour, local hunting and fishing lore, college farm tour, hike or mountain bike a trail, and more to choose from.

10-11:30am  Varsity Practices
Practices for men's and women's soccer, cross country and volleyball.

Seasonal, local, organic, and whole foods with a wide selection of ethnic foods. Mmm!

12:30-4pm  Sound of the Drum
Ride, bike, jog, or walk to the Field of Dreams for drumming, dancing, and friendly field games and activities like Frisbee, horseshoes, bocce, and canoeing. African drumming, steel drum band, Recycled Junk Percussion Experience, and dancing. Take part in the class photo. Grills will be going for snacks!
