Unity students canoeing

Partners Matter

Through partnerships with organizations such as Outward Bound, the Maine Organic Farmers and Gardeners Association (MOFGA) and Husson University, students gain a measure of real-world experience that is in-keeping with the experiential, hands-on approach to education that forms the backbone of the Unity experience.

Among the opportunities students seize to challenge themselves is a semester spent training in the great outdoors with Outward Bound. This active experience allows students to gain a leg up towards becoming Outward Bound Instructors, the gold standard of adventure leadership positions. Other students work towards complimenting their undergraduate environmental degree with a Master of Science in Business pursued immediately after completing studies at Unity on the campus of Husson University in Bangor, Maine. Other students become environmental leaders by studying organic farming in association with MOFGA. Associations with community organizations and community service are also important and accept the real world component to a Unity College education.
