Is there an application deadline?
NO....Unity College has a Rolling Admissions Policy. It is recommended, however, that you submit your application between December and March.
How long does it take to process an application and when will the acceptance letter be mailed?
Once your application is complete, it takes about three weeks to process and your acceptance letter will be mailed as soon as our decision is made.
What credentials must be submitted to properly file an application? Each student is required to submit the Unity College Application for Admission, a high school transcript, (all college transcripts for transfer students), an essay, and two (2) letters of recommendations.
Does the college require a minimum SAT/ACT for admission?
Unity College does NOT require SAT/ACT
Is an interview, references or essay required for admission?
One letter of recommendation is required--two are preferred. A writing sample is required; it may either be a graded senior English paper or a Personal Statement. An interview is not required, but it is definitely recommended that you visit campus. We would love to show you around.
Must a prescribed curriculum be completed in high school?
It is strongly recommended that a student complete three years of college prep math (algebra I & II & geometry) and two years of lab sciences.
Will the college accept the General Education Diploma (GED)?
Yes.
Will the college honor a home study (home schooled) program?
Yes. In lieu of an official high school transcript, students are expected to submit an academic portfolio consisting of the completed course of instruction and a detailed bibliography.You must also submit a high school diploma, either through Adult Education or a GED.
What are the transfer admission requirements?
Each student is required to submit the Unity College Application for Admission and all college transcripts. At least one letter of recommendation is recommended.
Does the college offer remedial or development studies?
Yes. The college has a Learning Resource Center. This academic center provides instruction and supportive services to students.
Are academic scholarships available?
Yes, Presidential and Dean scholarships are awarded for academic merit. A variety of other achievement awards are offered such as Leadership and Environmental Action scholarships.
What are the college’s strongest academic areas?
Environmental Science, Natural Resource Management, and Outdoor Recreation.

Yes, with designated parking areas.
Does the college offer an option between residence halls and apartment living?
Our three traditional residence halls are designated for first and second-year students, while the newer Cianchette Hall and our five cottages are open to upper-class and non-traditional aged students. The latter option offer a more co-operative, self-regulated environment.
In what intercollegiate sports does the college participate (men and women)?
Men: basketball, soccer, cross country
Women: cross country, soccer, volleyball
Does the college offer and intramural program and if so, which sports are the most popular? Yes. Woodsmen, ice hockey, women’s basketball, men’s baseball, frisbee golf, and indoor soccer are very popular.
What are current expenses for tuition and room/board?
Total costs (room/board and tuition) are approximately $28,455.00
How do I apply for financial aid?
Those wishing to apply for financial must submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
What attractions are in reasonable distance to the college?
The city of Waterville, offering movies theatres, shopping and dining is approximately 18 miles west of Unity. The Atlantic Ocean and Penobscot Bay are 20 miles to the east. Some of the best downhill skiing in the east is less than two hours away. A variety of other outdoor activities such as cross country skiing, hiking and nature trails are right outside your door.
