Office of College Development
Joseph Galli joined Unity College in January of 2011 as a familiar face, having worked for a time during 2008 in the Career Resource Center. Galli serves as Interim Vice President for College Development, a position made possible through the generous support of the Unity Foundation. Prior to his current position Galli served as an independent marketing and branding consultant for a number of for-profit and not-for-profit organizations. The balance of his professional career was spent in high profile positions on Wall Street, including serving as Senior Vice President of Global Marketing, Branding and Advertising with Lehman Brothers Inc., of New York, New York. He also served in several senior positions at Neuberger Berman Inc. of New York, New York. “Unity College is young, vibrant, and is achieving national and international recognition on issues related to sustainability and global environmental concern,” Galli explained. “There is a strength of purpose within the community, track record of achievement and commitment to its environmental mission that helps Unity College to be poised to benefit greatly from a strong annual fund.” After leaving Wall Street in 2007, his interest for and commitment to environmental causes and sustainability led him to co-found Morton Hill Inc., in Linconville Center, Maine, converting a former dairy farm into a landscape tree farm and bird sanctuary.

Rob Constantine is the Director of the Annual Fund. Prior to coming to Unity, Rob served as Annual Fund Director, Alumni Affairs Director, and Associate Director of Development at Kimball Union Academy, an independent boarding school for students in grades 9-12. He has also worked in the advancement office as Director of Research and Prospect Management at Colby-Sawyer College. Rob received a BS in Applied Sociology/Organizational Analysis from the University of Rhode Island and his MA in Sociology from Emory University where he focused on formal organizations and globalization theory. Alongside his administrative role, Rob enjoys getting into the classroom and taught sociology classes for several years at Colby-Sawyer and Granite State College. Rob currently resides right in Unity (walking distance from campus) and frequently heads to New Hampshire to spend time with his two children, Tori and Sawyer. He also enjoys being an active participant in the local community, cheering on the New York Yankees, and playing music with a group of Unity College friends in the band dog wants out.

Reeta Benedict originally joined Unity College in 2005 as the Advancement Office Coordinator. She now works as Annual Giving Officer. Reeta has worked in varied office settings including two banks in Connecticut, a Realtor agency and in a styling salon. A native of New Fairfield, CT, Reeta joined Unity College soon after graduating with a degree in business management from Western Connecticut State University. A mother of two daughters, she is kept busy with family life. Her husband got her interested in target shooting and bow hunting which have turned into her favorite hobbies. Reeta enjoys planting a 1,000sq ft garden and harvesting her spoils. When she can scrounge up some spare time, Reeta enjoys being with her family and in the outdoors.

Summer Programs and Events Coordinator Kate Grenier got her start in College Advancement as an undergraduate at the University of Maine at Orono. She served Alumni Relations in a number of capacities, developing an knack for event planning and eventually taking on that role full time. A native of Albion, Maine, Kate grew up just miles from the Unity College campus. She began her position at Unity in 2004 shortly after receiving her undergraduate degree in International Affairs. Music has always been important in her life, and she began playing the piano at the age of 7. Kate currently has many plants but expresses continued frustration with her inability to keep orchids alive. In her ample spare time, Kate plays with her Newfoodle (Newfoundland & standard Poodle) and has future plans to get a horse, goat, several cats and chicken for the small farm she plans to establish. This will fit in perfectly with her other interest, gardening and “playing in the dirt.”

Debora Noone, a resident of Brunswick, began as Parent and Alumni Relations Coordinator in January of 2011. Her position was made possible through the generous support of the Unity Foundation. She coordinates alumni events, correspondence, alumni and parent relations, helps to foster a sense of community, develops communications networks using social media, and participates in a variety of communications efforts including contributing to Unity Magazine. Noone possesses a wealth of experience in alumni relations and advancement, having served as the Director of Alumni Relations / Assistant Director of Development at North Yarmouth Academy of Yarmouth, Maine, and as the Director of Alumni Relations / Assistant Director of Development at the Sidwell Friends School of Washington, D.C. Volunteerism and community relations are important elements of her life. “Unity College is a leader in the ongoing national and international dialogue about a host of environmental issues,” Noone stated. “It is an exciting time to be serving the College and its talented, engaged alumni who are doing great work worldwide.”

Cindy Schaub is the Advancement Services Coordinator. She has been at Unity College since 2003. Prior to coming to Unity, Cindy was the Campaign Office Coordinator for the Waldo County YMCA’s $4.5 million dollar campaign for their new facility. She has also worked for Cadbury Consultants, served as Secretary of the Waldo County YMCA’s Board of Directors, is a past president of the Maine Horse Association, and a former board member of the Maine Morgan Horse Club. She received a BS degree in Animal Science from the University of Maine and has two sons. She shares her home with a Bernese Mountain Dog named Ripley. When away from the office, Cindy enjoys boating, snowmobiling, motorcycling, skiing, hiking, soccer, volleyball and is an avid Maine Black Bears Hockey fan.

Mark Tardif is the Associate Director of College Communications. He grew up in Lewiston, Maine, and graduated from St. Dominic Regional High School. He went on to earn a bachelor’s degree in English from Northeastern University. While at Northeastern, Mark was a varsity rower. He held several jobs as a reporter before pursuing a career in higher education. He holds master’s degrees from Boston University and Thomas College, and has served in various coaching, teaching and administrative posts at several colleges and universities. An employee of Unity College since 2004, Mark serves as the official College photographer, arranges for media coverage and edits the college magazine. His interest in sports led him to found Team Green Monster, a faculty and staff four-person toboggan team that competes each year in the U.S. National Toboggan Championships at the Camden Snow Bowl in Maine. In 2007 the team sled to a 4th place finish. An obsessive consumer of news, politics, fiction, mystery and biography, he also has a passion for the guitar. Mark lives in Waterville with his two French cats, Minew and Giesette.
