Tom Mullin
Assistant Professor of Park Management

Tom joins the faculty from nearly 20 years of experience in the field of park management and park interpretation. Most recently as the state coordinator of Maine Project Learning Tree where he coordinated a state wide, forest based environmental education program. Prior to that he was the Executive Director of a land trust and environmental learning center in southern New Hampshire. Before moving to New England in 1994, he worked as a park manager and nature center director for the Fairfax County Park Authority in Northern Virginia. His nearly 12 years in this large municipal parks agency offered many opportunities and challenges to develop visitor and park management skills.

Other work has included time with state, federal and nonprofits. Currently he serves as the President for Administration of the National Association for Interpretation. He holds a Masters in Public Administration/Business Management from George Mason University and a BS in Horticulture from Virginia Tech.

Tom's outside interests include hiking, sea kayaking, camping and natural history studies. Long distance hiking is a particular interest as he thru hiked the Appalachian Trail in 1987 with his wife Terry.
