Mac McHale and Emery Hutchins to Perform at Unity Centre for the Performing Arts on March 30

Unity, Maine – March, 2007 –  Unity College is pleased to announce a concert featuring Mac McHale and Emery Hutchins on Friday, March 30th at the Unity Centre for the Performing Arts at 7:30 p.m.  Admission is $10.  For information call the Unity Centre for the Performing Arts at (207) 948-7469 or e-mail show@unitymaine.org.

     McHale and Hutchins, affectionately known at Mac & Hutch, have recently joined forces to sing and play songs from Ireland, the mountains and the sea.  They traveled and recorded with The Winds for 18 years.

     For the past 17 years, McHale has led a Mac McHale & the Old Time Radio Gang.  Hutchins has been an important part of the Angel Band, a world famous Irish music group.

     They will be performing some of their favorites from The Northeast Winds as well as some very old-time traditional country music.  Instruments featured will include the banjo, guitar, mandolin, concertina, bodran and the octave mandolin.  The program is sure to include some hot picking instrumentals and sing-a-longs.

     The Unity Centre for the Performing Arts is located at 42 Depot Street (off Route 202) in Unity, Maine.  March begins the Celtic theme series of concerts.
