There will be sessions 8:30–11 a.m. and 1–3 p.m., for students and faculty of Unity College focusing on plants with medicinal qualities that can be harvested in the spring and summer.
From 6–8 p.m. will be a talk and demonstration on medicine plants for the general public. The suggested donation is $15 per person. No registration is necessary.
The seminars will be conducted by Fredda Paul and Leslie Wood. Paul is a Passamaquoddy elder from the Pleasant Point reservation in Maine. He is carrying on the medicine tradition as he first learned it from the elders before him.
Wood has a background in fine art, combined
with a love of writing. She joins the two to illustrate plants
and document stories through participation in harvests and time
with elders.
