Unity Students
Enjoy Hunting Season, Scott Winchester Bags Doe in Unity
Unity, Maine –
October, 2006 – Unity
College has since its founding in 1965 always maintained a close
connection to outdoor sports. The tradition continues with each
sporting season, when a large group of Unity College sportsmen
participate. It is not uncommon to see Unity students bringing game
back to campus and hosting wild game dinners.
By all accounts the bow hunting season
is going exceedingly well for sportsmen at Unity College. On Thursday,
October 27, Scott Winchester ’09, a Conservation Law Enforcement major
from Auburn, Massachusetts took a sizeable doe in Unity with a bow and
arrow.

He planned to share the meat with his
classmates who enjoy venison.
All Unity College students who pursue sports
involving firearms are required to successfully complete a hunter safety
course.
Unity College is a small private
college in rural Maine that provides dedicated, engaged students with a
liberal arts education which emphasizes the environment and natural
resources. Unity College graduates are prepared to be environmental
stewards, effective leaders, and responsible citizens through active
learning experiences within a supportive community.
