Unity College hosts Earth Day events

UNITY -- Unity College plans to host several eclectic Earth Day events April 18 on the theme of "Celebrate Your Earth, Your Way."

Events include a chili cook-off in the Student Activities Center, firearms-safety demonstrations on the soccer field next to the gymnasium, and a sports-gear auction.

"Our goal with Earth Day 2009 at Unity College is to encourage participants to enjoy the environment, and recognize the many different types of nature-oriented activities there are to enjoy," said William Knight, a conservation-law enforcement major from Waterboro, who serves on the Earth Day planning committee.
