Unity College to Host Presidential Inauguration Event at Unity College Centre for the Performing Arts

Unity, Maine – January, 2009 – Unity College will host a LIVE big screen broadcast of the Inauguration of President Elect Barack Obama from 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. at the Unity College Centre for the Performing Arts in Unity on Tuesday, January 20. The event is free and open to the general public.

In addition to watching history unfold on the big screen, guests will also be able to touch a piece of history as well. A display of a solar panel formerly atop the White House during the administration of former President Jimmy Carter will be available for review.

Unity College obtained the solar panels formerly atop the White House from government storage in 1991. The story of the White House solar panels at Unity College is available online at http://www.unity.edu/envresources/sustainability/carter.aspx.

The Unity College Centre for the Performing Arts is located at 42 Depot Street (off Route 202) in Unity, Maine.
