ACUPCC Climate Leadership Summit Podcast Interviews

Stephen Muzzy, the Program Manager at Second Nature recently had the opportunity to interview a few of the participants at the ACUPCC Climate Leadership Summit in Chicago. I sat down with Jesse Pyles, Sustainability Coordinator at Unity College to discuss his thoughts on the pre-conference workshop that toured green buildings at St. Xavier University  and the University of Illinois, Chicago and what information he found relevant to take back to Unity College. Jesse also shared Unity College’s sustainability strategies and how he is putting President Mitchell Thomashow’s  9 principles of sustainability into action.

2. Dr. Kathleen Schatzberg, President of Cape Cod Community College

I had the opportunity to sit down with Kathleen Schatzberg, President of Cape Cod Community College and member of the ACUPCC Steering Committee to discuss the role community colleges play in advancing sustainability Nationwide, the multiple resources available for community colleges to accelerate this effort, and how Cape Cod Community College is providing training to create a clean and green economy.

3. Glenn Cummings, Assistant Deputy Secretary with the U.S. Department of Education

I sat down with Glenn Cummings the Assistant Deputy Secretary with the U.S. Department of Education to hear his thoughts on the ACUPCC and the potential it has to inform federal legislation around environmental literacy and sustainability education.
