Jacob McCarthy Named Web Content Manager at Unity College

Unity, Maine – April 20, 2011 --  Jacob McCarthy has been named web content manager at Unity College of Unity, Maine.  He brings a wealth of writing, new media, web design, and web content development experience to this newly created position.

     McCarthy is charged with transforming Unity’s web site into a cutting-edge, multi-media platform.

     “We are all excited to have a dedicated web content developer at the College,” noted Alisa Johnson, Dean for Enrollment Management.  “Improving our web presence is long overdue and will certainly aid the College in communicating our great story to the world.”

     Among the factors that attracted McCarthy to Unity College are its brand stature and commitment to sustainability.

     “I am excited to begin this endeavor,” said McCarthy.  “This is a focused, strong and supportive environmental community.  At every level individuals are committed to serving the next generation of wise environmental stewards.  Being a part of that effort on a daily basis and facilitating a broader range of options for conveying all that Unity College is and achieves is an ideal position for me at this stage of my career.”

     McCarthy holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from Lawrence University and a Master of Arts in Digital Rhetoric and Professional Writing from Michigan State University.
