Canadian Centre for Architecture Features Carter Solar Panel on Loan from Unity College The Canadian Centre for Architecture is featuring a solar panel that once resided atop the White House during the administration of former Unity States President Jimmy Carter. The panels once atop the White House were removed during the Reagan administration and placed in storage. Within a decade they were obtained by Unity College, refurbished and put to work heating water in the cafeteria. No longer functional, the panels owned by Unity College are considered pieces of American history. A panel is not only featured in an exhibition at the Canadian Centre for Architecture, but are featured in a film documentary / multi-media exhibition. The documentary is entitled A Moral Equivalent of War, and is being considered for possible inclusion in the 2008 Maine International Film Festival. Below are photos of a panel currently on exhibit at the Canadian Centre for Architecture (CCA). Photos are courtesy of the CCA.
