Unity College to Showcase Student Research and Art at Student Conference, May 2 at UCCPA in Unity Unity, Maine – April, 2011 -- Unity College will host an end of the spring 2011 semester student conference on May 2 from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Unity College Centre for the Performing Arts (UCCPA), 42 Depot Street (off Route 202) in Unity, Maine. The event is free and open to the general public. The Unity College Student Conference is an opportunity to celebrate excellence in academic work created by Unity College students. The student conference consists of multiple presentation formats and includes judging in several interdisciplinary categories. From 8:30 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. student work will be featured in various locations at the UCCPA. There will be presentations in the auditorium and multi-media in the lobby. Posters outlining student research projects will be available in the basement. A special ceremony to honor retiring Unity College faculty will be held in the auditorium at noontime. Unity College is a small private college in rural Maine that provides dedicated, engaged students with a liberal arts education which emphasizes the environment and natural resources. Unity College graduates are prepared to be environmental stewards, effective leaders, and responsible citizens through active learning experiences within a supportive community.
