AASHE Announcements

       The Association for the Advancement of Sustainability in Higher Education (AASHE) has announced that Unity College President Mitchell Thomashow has been named to its Board of Directors.  

New Members of AASHE's Board of Directors

This January AASHE welcomed the following new members to serve on its Board of Directors through 2012:

  • Jacqueline Johnson - Chancellor, University of Minnesota, Morris
  • Rose Harrell Johnson - President, Haywood Community College (NC)
  • Erika Kociolek - Graduate Student, International Affairs and Political Science, Duke University (NC)
  • Adam Steinman - Senior Vice President, Colleges and Universities, Woodard & Curran, Inc. (ME)
  • Mitchell Thomashow - President, Unity College (ME) 

     Unity College is a small private college in rural Maine that provides dedicated, engaged students with a liberal arts education which emphasizes the environment and natural resources.  Unity College graduates are prepared to be environmental stewards, effective leaders, and responsible citizens through active learning experiences within a supportive community.
