Sen. Collins to deliver keynote at Unity College graduation UNITY (May 8): U.S. Sen. Susan Collins will deliver the keynote graduation speech at 1 p.m. Saturday, May 9, at Unity College. Ninety candidates for two- and four-year degrees are expected to participate in ceremonies. The college will award citations to John Piotti, the Maine League of Conservation Voters, Jeff McCabe ’00, and the Unity Barn Raisers and will present honorary degrees to Mwalimu Musheshe and Sen. Collins. The senior banquet Friday, May 8 and commencement exercises Saturday, May 9, are being touted as the greenest in the history of the college. “We believe that our commencement will be among the greenest held anywhere,” said Alumni Relations and Events Coordinator Kate Grenier. “Our focus is on frugal sustainability, which means being green in a way that is also cost effective.”
