UNITY (July 14): The lagging economy is not expected to dampen enthusiasm for the 7th Annual Get Hooked on Unity Weekend, formerly known as the Unity College Fishing for Scholarships Tournament.

Rules and regulations will be read at 7:25 a.m. with the start taking place at 7:30 a.m. at the Unity Pond boat launch on Kanokolus Road off Route 202 in Unity. The horn start to the tournament will feature 200-plus participants and their registered fishing partners rushing to the water and launching their boats.
