Intercollegiate Club Sports

Many students are active members in the various club sports at Unity College. Helping the athletics department follow its mission of participation, club sports allow students to form teams in many recreational areas. Unity students enjoy the relaxed atmosphere that helps make the club sport program a success. Student Government sponsors a Club Night where students learn about current club opportunities and also how to form a new club.

Club sports that have been offered in recent years include:

  • Woodsmen—This team also has a long and proud tradition at Unity. The team travels throughout New England and parts of Canada. From cross-cutting to water boil, the action is fast and exciting. The Woodsmen team is open to men and women and is coached by Unity faculty member Pat Clark.
  • Ice Hockey—This club takes to the ice during the second semester by participation in the Sukee Arena College Club League. The team typically plays a 10-game schedule. The hockey club is coached by area teacher Andy Cyr. In 2008 the team finished 2nd in the league.
  • Baseball-- This club plays a fall and spring schedule when there is enough student interest.
  • Ultimate Frisbee—This club team plays throughout the academic year. The club plays games against other college clubs throughout New England.
  • Lacrosse—This is the club with the longest tradition at Unity College. Started in the late '70s , the team plays a spring schedule when there is enough student interest.
  • Indoor Soccer—Many of our varsity players compete in this winter/spring activity. Unity has entered local leagues, competed in tournaments, and hosted its own tournament.
  • Other recreational clubs sponsored in recent years include: Weightlifting, Fitness, Martial Arts, and Women’s Softball.
