MEN'S BASKETBALL
The Unity College winter sports season was something new for the Men’s Basketball team. A laundry list of new players, a brand new coaching staff, and a completely different system left the Men’s Basketball team with a deep hole to crawl out of. Despite all the challenges of being an entirely new program, the Unity College Men’s Basketball Team prevailed with a successful season. “We began the year with one statement, you play for the person on the line next to you. This helped all of us come together and continue to learn the game,” said 1st year Coach Josh Hunt. The players played by the philosophy that, “Success is not a destination, it’s a journey,” introduced through sophomore co-captain Ben Giroux. As the season progressed the team continued to improve. The final game of the 2005-2006 Season matched the Rams against the University of Maine at Augusta. The Ram Dome was packed on Pack the Gym night. The game was a must win contest for the Rams, the play-offs being the reward. The gym was rocking, but the Rams fell shy in the last minutes of the excitement.
