2012-2013
Unity College Meal Plan & Unity Dollars Information

For the 2012–2013 academic year, first-year Unity College residents are required to have the 19-Meal Plan. Returning residents have the option of a 19- or 13-Meal Plan and MUST select a meal plan. The exception to this rule is cottage and TerraHaus residents, who may choose the 19-, 13-, Bundle or No-Meal Plan.

Dining Hall

The dining hall is open to serve meals whenever the college is in session. It is an all-you-can eat facility for students, faculty and staff. For students with a meal plan, their ID card is swiped by a cashier and a meal is deducted from their card. For cash customers or if a student is using Dining Dollars or Unity Dollars, the cost for a meal is: breakfast $5.50, lunch $7.00, brunch $7.25 and dinner $8.00.  Students are not allowed to remove cups, plates, bowls or flatware from either facility. While students may eat all they want while in the cafeteria during a meal they may not take any food or beverage from the dining hall except a beverage in their own cup and/or a piece of fruit or a cookie.

The Student Center

This is our retail operation that offers a cooked-to-order menu as well as sundries. There are games and many other activities available at this facility including live entertainment several weekend nights.

Cash, Dining Dollars or Unity Dollars are accepted at both facilities. Daily hours are posted on the door of each facility or can be accessed on the Dining Services web page under Student Life.

Meal Plans

For the 2012-2013 academic year; first-year Unity College students are required to have the 19 Meal Plan. Returning residence hall students have the option of a 19 or 13 Meal Plan and MUST select a Meal Plan (except cottage and TerraHaus residence students). All cottage and TerraHaus residence students may choose the 19, 13 or Bundle Meal Plan.  A meal equivalency may also be used Monday through Friday at the Student Center after Wyman Commons has closed for lunch and dinner.

19 Meal Plan

* Students may eat all 19 meals served each week; one meal each meal period per day. This is a worry-free plan that has proven popular with students and parents because you are assured the student can always have a nutritious meal. This is also the most economical plan providing an opportunity for 90 more meals each semester than the 13 Meal Plan. Cost is $1,742 per semester. Unused meals do not roll over from week to week.

* This Plan comes with $25 in Meal Plan Dollars which can be used in our Student Center retail operation or to purchase a meal for a guest.

13 Meal Plan

* Students may eat any 13 of the 19 meals served each week. This is a good choice if you tend to spend your weekends off campus. Cost is $1,742 per semester. Unused meals do not roll over from week to week.

* This plan comes with $100 in Meal Plan Dollars which can be used in our Student Center retail operation or to purchase a meal for a guest.

Bundle Meal Plan

* This is a new meal plan for off campus students and residents who live in the Cottages or TerraHause.  It offers 60 unlimited swipes in either the Student Center or Dining Commons.  The cost of this plan is $400 per semester.  All meals must be used by the end of each semester.

Meal Plan Dollars on the 19 and 13 meal plan will be forfeited at the end of the academic year.

Unity Dollars

* Unity Dollars are an option for all students attending Unity College. Whether you are on campus with a current 19 or 13 Meal Plan or a commuter/cottage student, Unity Dollars are available for you. Unity Dollars are purchased by cash, check, Visa, MasterCard or Discover in increments of $50.00 or more. You can use your Unity Dollars in the Cafeteria, Student Center and Bookstore. The balance of Unity Dollars will roll over from semester to semester. Unity Dollars create a cashless environment for the students.

* Unity Dollars will stay on your ID Card throughout your college career. ONLY after you graduate, transfer or withdraw from Unity College, your remaining Unity Dollars balance will be transferred to your student account.
