Student Activities

There's plenty to do at Unity College!

Programs are geared to expand student experiences and ease social connection with the community. Director of Student Activities Mike Davis has a great group of work-study assistants who help him offer a wide variety of social, cultural, and educational programs throughout the academic year. Events include—

Holli and Jack

  • Late Nite programs, which are chem-free activities from 10:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m. on Saturday nights
  • Roots Week, celebrating the diversity in the college
  • Coffeehouse performances by singer/songwriters, some including workshops for budding musicians
  • Bands of every stripe—country, jazz, cover, jam, rock—you name it!
  • Open mike and karaoke nights when student talent takes the stage
  • Movie nights outdoors on campus, at the Unity Centre for Performing Arts, or in Waterville or Belfast
  • Beach party and Cinco de Mayo featuring Unity College's own Gary and the Pacemakers
  • Theme dance parties—Halloween, Celtic, '60s, or whatever you suggest
  •  Earth Day—recycled derby, trashin' fashion, club booths, eco-challenge, 5K road race, and more
  • Winter Carnival with the college's semi-formal Snow Ball
  • Student Appreciation Week, which is loaded with prizes and treats for students

Mike and his staff rely on student recommendations and everyone is encouraged to help organize and, of course, participate in the events.
