Sooner or later, each of us encounters a crisis, roadblock "stuck" points, or difficult circumstances. Far from being an admission of weakness, the decision to seek counsel when confronted by obstacles is a sign of wisdom, maturity, & courage. As you make your journey through Unity College, the Counseling Service is here to listen and assist.
Mission Statement
"Human growth and development involves an intricate and unique relationship between the individual and his or her environment. If all goes well, life itself provides the individual with and optimal balance of experiences and relationships fostering psychological health, well being, and self actualization. It is a guiding belief of the counseling service that individuals carry within themselves the wisdom and strength to confront problems and overcome adversity. Thus, the goal of counseling service is not to "fix", but rather to challenge and empower students to access and utilize their resources."—Melanie Mock, LCPC.
