Outdoor Adventure Center
The Outdoor Adventure Center was established to provide excellent outdoor programs and support to Unity College students, staff and faculty. The OAC uses adventure and outdoor experiences to help individuals discover and grow.
- Adventure Trips
Moonlight trips, weekend and evening excursions: hiking, backpacking, canoeing, kayaking (sea and flat), cross-country skiing, snowshoesing, and more.
- Challenge Course
Unity College has both and indoor and outdoor challenge courses. Specialized programs and trainings are provided to students in the philosophy and operation of challenge courses. Credit courses are offered as well.
- Equipment Room
Outdoor equipment rentals for students, faculty and staff. Canoes, recreation kayaks, stoves, maps, sleeping bags, backpacks and much more for your use.
- Forms
Forms and documents used for OAC trips and programs.
- Outdoor Series
A weekly outdoor skills session on various topics including: first aid, water purification, weather, winter sports, and outdoor cooking.
- NOVA Wilderness Orientation
Nova trips are designed to support the incoming student to transition to college life at Unity by emphasizing personal growth, building social connections, and promoting environmental stewardship. Nova trips are small group wilderness experiences that include: A wide selection of outdoor adventure activities, community-building games and initiatives, discussion circle and service projects.
- Staff
We are a committed group of men and women excited to share our love of the outdoors and adventure activities with you. We are strong leaders who have a solid foundation in technical skills, group dynamics and minimum impact techniques. Many of us maintain current WFA/WFR/WEMT and CPR certifications.
- Willard Climbing Wall
Indoor climbing wall with several different climbing routes and bouldering 24 hours each day. Climbing for everyone!. Join us each Thursday for climbing clinics from 7-8pm.
