The Leonard R. Craig Gallery at Unity College will present an exhibition of work by Alan Bray, Peter Eldredge, Dennis Gilbert, Andy Graham and Juris Ubans.
In August of 2006, the Spencer Pond Group of five artists and friends celebrated the 24th anniversary of their collective forays into the wilds of northern Maine, an annual sojourn at the century-old Spencer Pond Camps east of Moosehead Lake.

Initially drawn by the robust and restful recreations of the woods, these avid sportsmen quickly found a comfortable rhythm in fishing and hiking by day, then settling into the pleasures of the cribbage board and dinner table in the evening. Between times, they drew inspiration from the spectacular beauty of a Maine in the full flower of late summer. Painting plein air, taking photographs, making sketches for use in the studio back home, these kindred spirits also drew inspiration from one another’s art. Their yearly renewal of friendship found a natural extension in collaborative work, such as group-generated murals and landscapes, and exhibitions in Castine, Portland, Turner, and Manhattan.
