The B.S. in Earth and Environmental Science at Unity College empowers students fascinated by the formation, evolution and monitoring of the physical landscape–and to pursue their passion with hands-on experience.

B.S. in Earth and Environmental Science

At Unity, you will gain a strong foundational knowledge of the interconnections between Earth systems, studying them from the small (molecules) to the large (mountain ranges), over time scales spanning minutes (chemical reactions) to thousands of years (environmental change). 

With heavy emphasis on experiential and outdoor learning, rigorous studies in laboratory and field skills applied to real world scenarios better prepare Unity College students tor graduate school and careers.  Small lab sections are taught by nationally recognized professors, preparing you to solve the world’s most pressing environmental problems.

As a student in our program, you will gain the fine-tuned skills and knowledge to become an experienced environmental problem-solver.

All earth and environmental science courses have an outdoor lab component in which you’ll learn in various nearby natural settings and then continue the learning process in the lab using modern equipment and technology.

As an earth and environmental science graduate from Unity, you’ll have a wide range of career options available to you. These include working as environmental scientists and technicians, materials scientists, biological scientists, biochemists, geologists, geophysicists, geochemists, meterologists.

Other students with a B.S. in Earth and Environmental Science from Unity College go on to earn their graduate degrees or teaching certificates, enabling them to pursue careers as biochemists, microbiologists, hydrologists, or teachers.
