Unity College adventures begin with Nova. All entering students are enrolled in the Unity Experience Course which begins with the Nova adventure-based orientation trip. Summer Nova trips take place in July and August.

Students must first be deposited for Fall 2017 at Unity College to register for Nova.

To Register for your Nova Trip

  1. To apply go online on your Unity College student portal
  2. Choose term FALL 2017
  3. Once in your UC Portal - Go to the left side of the screen and click on New Student Resources.
  4. Please print off the Warning of Inherent Risk and Health History forms, fill them out and return them to:

  5. Once Unity College receives these documents, we will send you a confirmation through your Unity College email. Processing documents can take up to two weeks.
  6. The Nova Registration link in your student portal will then be active for you to register for your Nova trip. Unity College student portal
  7. Read the trip descriptions - Go to www.unity.edu/nova Click on Summer Nova, read the descriptions, and then choose the trip you would like to attend.
  8. Once you fill your Nova Trip Registration, we will email you within two weeks to confirm your trip assignment and gear and equipment list.

If for some reason you cannot attend Nova this Summer

You will need to defer this program until Winter or Summer 2018.  You will have one year to complete the Nova program.

To register for a deferral please follow directions below.

  1. To apply complete #1-6 above.
  2. When registering for Nova there is an option to defer to another season located at the bottom of the Nova Registration Form.
  3. Once you fill your Nova Trip Registration, we will email you within two weeks to confirm your deferral.

Exemption Appeal

There are only certain and limited types of situations that qualify a student for exemption from the Nova program: physical limitations such as long term illness or injury (Medical Release Required), family obligations, full-time employment (not including seasonal work), or over the age of 24 (at the time of your first semester).

To appeal for an exemption please follow the directions below.

  1. To apply complete #1-6 above.
  2. When registering for Nova there is an option to exempt from the Nova program.
  3. Once you fill your Nova Trip Registration, we will email you within two weeks to inform you of the status of the exemption appeal.
