Fall 2012 New Student Orientation Schedule

9:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m.

 

Welcome Reception for Arrivals

Enjoy coffee, juice and a breakfast bar while you wait to register.

Student Center

Registration: All Students (including off campus/commuter)

All students check in at the library, receive their info packets and have an opportunity to check on other student and local services (banking, health, etc.).

Dorothy Webb Quimby Library

IT Programming: IT staff members will be available on a first come, first serve basis to make sure your computer is set to run on the campus network. (Parents should not bring their student’s computers to be programmed)

Activities Building, Parsons Wing Room 204

“Welcome Home”: Residential Students

Students check into their rooms, meet their resident advisor and roommates, and move in.

Residence halls

11:00 a.m.–1:00 p.m.

Lunch: Enjoy a large spread with all your favorite sandwich fixings-deli meats, vegetarian options, great salads and yummy desserts.

Wyman Commons

1:15–2:00 p.m.

Tozier Gymnasium

“Unity College: Moving Forward” President Stephen Mulkey provides his vision for the future of Unity College.

Students take part in a tree-planting ceremony with Dean for Student Affairs Gary Zane and Student Government Association President Melissa Merritt.

Tree will be planted between Wood Hall and Quaker Hill Road.

Parents' Program: Information session introduces members of the Unity College administration and staff, who will answer questions from students’ families and friends before they leave for home.

Residential Student Program: Get to know your RA and explore the challenges of residence hall life.

Commuter Student Program: Find out about the ins and outs of living off campus, networking with nontraditional students, and college resources to enhance your collegiate experience.

“Not Goodbye–Just See You Soon!”: Parents and students say their farewells.

Work-Study Orientation: This information sessions guides work-study–eligible students through the paperwork, updates them on responsibilities, and explains how to obtain a work-study position.
