Unity College is proud to partner with the Veterans Administration to provide Yellow Ribbon benefits to qualified students. The College offers three Yellow Ribbon scholarships of up to $2000 in the spring semester to eligible undergraduates on a first-come, first-served basis.
Unity College is participating in the Yellow Ribbon Program, part of the Post-9/11 GI Bill® (Chapter 33)*. Eligibility for the Yellow Ribbon Program benefit at Unity College is limited to admitted, undergraduate students in good standing. Unity College will make contributions to a maximum of three individual students, for a maximum amount per student of $2000.00 per academic year. These awards will be granted to eligible students on a first-come-first-served basis in the spring semester. This program was designed to cover expenses that exceed the highest resident rate tuition in the state of Maine. Students on academic probation, financial probation, or disciplinary probation are not eligible for the Yellow Ribbon program.
Submit the following documents to the registrar’s office:
- Unity College Yellow Ribbon Application form
- Your VA Certificate of Eligibility
Your initial Yellow Ribbon application will be date/time stamped and awards will be assigned to eligible students on a first-come-first-serve basis. We will begin accepting applications as soon as pre-registration opens for the term in question. Submit early to increase your chances of receiving one of the available awards. Recipients of the Yellow Ribbon Program award will be notified by e-mail.
Renewal of Award Each Term:
In order to guarantee retention of the Yellow Ribbon Program award, you must declare your intent to enroll by submitting your Chapter 33 certification request by the Yellow Ribbon Program priority deadline each term (end of add/drop). If you do not reclaim your Yellow Ribbon Program status by the deadline, your spot may be given to the next eligible student on the waiting list.
If you do not receive the Yellow Ribbon Program award for a term because you do not register for courses, are academically suspended, or cannot register due to a student conduct violation or other registration hold, your Yellow Ribbon Program spot may go to the next eligible student on the waiting list and you will have to reapply for Yellow Ribbon Program in future terms.
