On Monday, January 14, you are cordially invited to join Unity President Stephen Mulkey and Michele Leavitt, CIFF President and Founder Ben Fowlie, and filmmakers Cecily Pingree and Jason Mann for a screening of BETTING THE FARM (www.bettingthefarmfilm.com). This event is presented in partnership with BETTING THE FARM film, a powerful and heartwarming documentary about Maine dairy farmers and their journey to build an organic business – Maine’s Own Organic Milk, or MOOMilk.
Prior to the screening, there will be an alumni and parent reception from 5:00 to 6:30 pm at the Park Cambridge located at 59 JFK Street in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Heavy hors d’oeuvres and cocktails will be served. The film begins at 7:00 pm at the Brattle Theater located at 40 Brattle Street, also in Cambridge. Jason Mann, one of the filmmakers for BETTING THE FARM will be on hand at the reception and will be available for a Q & A session after the film.
Those who RSVP by January 9, 2013 will have pre-paid theater tickets waiting at the Brattle Theater. The film screening will also be open to the public at $10 per person. For those who are not pre-registered for the Unity event, tickets may be purchased at the door. Parking tickets from the Charles Hotel Parking garage will be validated by Brattle Theater, and parking tickets from the Harvard Square Parking Garage will be validated by the Park Cambridge. Both venues are within walking distance of each other.
Save the date for the next film screening in conjunction with CIFF. On Friday, January 25 at 7:30 pm at Space Gallery in Portland, Unity College will present CHASING ICE (www.chasingice.com), the story of one man’s mission to change the tide of history by gathering undeniable evidence of climate change. A reception will be held prior to the showing for Unity alumni, parents, faculty and staff, from 5:30 to 7:00 pm. Space Gallery is located at 538 Congress Street in Portland, Maine.
Both events are a partnership between Unity College and Camden International Film Festival (CIFF). Before each screening, President Mulkey will say a few words about Unity College.
