Recently renovated and expanded, the Wyman Dining Commons serves homemade all-you-care-to-eat meals.
Food stations make choosing meals easy and fun: from breakfast-all-day to the Mongolian grill, from soups to salads, from sandwiches to comfort foods. We provide nutritious and delicious meals for all types of dietary needs.
Our most popular food choices are:
- The local hamburgers from grass-fed Maine cows.
- Daily soups, such as fish chowder and black beans.
- The Mongolian stir-fry, with you-choose-it ingredients cooked to order, or the ethnic cusine of the day, such as Sushi, Pho, or Currys.
- Locally sourced beets. Yes, hard to believe, but true! They are delicious!
- Ice cream from Maine dairies.

We provide food at stations, which makes it faster and easier to choose exactly what you want, without waiting in long lines.
The Mongolian Grill
Unique among schools in New England, Unity’s Mongolian grill is a large stir-fry steel plate that can cook up to 7 meals at a time. Choose your own meats, seafood, veggies, noodles, and flavorings to create unique food combinations. You choose the ethnic dish of the day, from Sushi and Moroccan, or even our station cook JaJa's favorite home cooked Filipino recipes.
The Breakfast Station
Served from the Mongolian grill, have our cooks prepare an omlet or eggs the way you like them, and enjoy the smoothie of the day with your breakfast.
The Allergen-Free Station
Serving daily specials made for those who have dietary concerns, this station is free from gluten, eggs, dairy, nuts, and shellfish.
Choose your sauce from marinara, alfredo, or house made pesto and other add-ins while our cooks prepare your pasta and toss it all together for you.
Daily specials from burgers to salads topped with grilled chicken made fresh and ready for you.
The Comfort Food Station
Hot food to satisfy: your favoirtes from home including mashed potatoes, lasagna, casseroles, roast turkey, mac and cheese. In-season veggies as well as vegan and vegetarian options are always avalible.
The Soup Station
We offer several choices every day. Most are homemade and include, vegan and vegetarian options.
The Fresh Station
A fully-stocked salad and sandwich bar. The spring mix lettuces are grown in our own McKay Farm & Research Station. Create your own sandwich and toast it if you choose on the panini grills. Or choose toppings for you personal pizza that our cooks are ready to put in the pizza oven for you.
The Belgian Waffle Station
Make your own decadent dessert waffles.
The Ice Cream Station
Offering over 10 varieties of ice cream every day. Nut and nut-free options available. With toppings including hot fudge!
The Dessert Station
Made fresh daily, choose from homemade cookies, cakes, pies, and creamy seasonal deserts.
The Fruit Station
Grab a banana, orange, or apple before you head out the door for your next class.
The Beverage Station
Choose from fruit juices, coffees, teas, milks, and sodas. We now offer vitamin water as an alternative to carbonated sugar drinks. Fruit smoothies are also available during breakfast.
Several times a semester, we provide a special, theme-based meal for dinner, such as Holiday Feast, Game Dinner, Valentine’s Dinner, or a specialty one such as an Appalachian Trail Dinner.
Meal plans: affordable and easy
Meal plans make eating even easier and affordable for students living on- and off-campus. Just swipe your meal card at the entrance and go. You must have your meal card.
About our Chef
Chef Jenny MacArthur is our Assistant Director of Dining Services. She has extensive education and experience in the culinary world. From the Culinary Institute of America - Hyde Park, NY, and holds both an AOS, Culinary Arts and BPS, Culinary and Hospitality Management. She also has a Wine Certification from The Culinary Institute of America at Greystone, Napa Valley, California, and has held internships with Marcus Samuelson at Aquavit and The Carriage House, Rye Beach, NH.
Jenny acquired extensive training and knowledge from her travels throughout Napa, Sonoma, France, and Italy studying wine and cuisine. Jenny brings a vast work experience to Unity College Dining, including a previous position as Dining Services Manager at the University of Maine Orono, Catering Director at Eurest Ventana Medical systems, Director of Dining Services at the Freedom Inn at Ventana Canyon, Brookdale Senior Living, General Manager for Applebee's International in Waterville, Maine, and Assistant Food and Beverage Director for Sheraton/Wyndham hotels both in Maine and Massachusetts.
Jenny has also been a Culinary Arts Instructor for both The Art Institute of Tucson and Le Cordon Bleu (Atlantic Culinary Academy) in Dover, NH. She oversees the day to day operations in Wyman commons as well catering coordination.
