Frequently Asked Questions
Below is a list of frequently asked questions (FAQs) regarding tuition, financial aid, and billing for incoming and current students.
I have my own insurance and don’t want to be billed. What do I have to do?
You are required to have health insurance coverage; therefore the annual premium is noted on your tuition statement in your student portal. You must either waive or confirm your enrollment by logging into your student portal. Under “Administrative Services” you will find a “health insurance’ link. Please be sure you are viewing the current term.
I am receiving scholarships. Why aren’t they listed on my bill?
Outside scholarship will appear on a student’s bill if we have official documentation from the source of funding and will be noted as “Est.” on the statement. Scholarships can only be deducted for the term it is meant for.
I just found out that I am getting a scholarship. What should I do?
Scan and e-mail to email@example.com. Fax copies to 207.512.1168. Mail copies to Unity College, Attn. Student Financial Services, 90 Quaker Hill Road, Unity ME 04988.
I have an adjustment in my financial aid award. Do I wait for a new bill?
No, You can find the adjusted amount due on “Billing & Payments” in your UC student portal.
What is the date tuition must be paid?
Incoming students: July 15th; Returning Students: August 1. Everyone is December 15th for the spring semester.
I just made a payment and I don’t see it listed on my ledger yet. Why not?
It can take 24 to 48 hours after a payment is made before it will post to your student account. However, all payments made through your portal will be listed under “recent payments” and the balance will be updated the next business day.
I have an additional student loan but they won’t disburse funds until after July 15th (incoming) or August 1 (returning). Can I still enroll?
As long as we have the approval by the due dates the account will be considered cleared for enrollment.
How much is due by the deadline?
You can find the amount due on “Billing and Payments” in your UC student portal.
Can I pay my bill online?
Yes, Students can make payments on the “Billing and Payments” page of their Student Portal.
Can I pay my bill over the Phone?
No, we do not have secured lines and therefore can’t take this information over the phone.
When do I start my payment plan?
Plans open May 1 for Fall and close August 14th. The number of months will be determined upon enrollment date. All Fall plans will end with the final payment due October 15th. Plans open October 15th for Spring and final payment is due April 15th. A non-refundable $75 application fee will be charged to participate each semester in either plan.
Where do I find my Student ID?
It is located in the upper right hand corner of your statement and in the upper left hand corner of your UC Student Portal.
Once I deposit when will I be billed?
Initial billing for first year students is Mid-April then 1 to 2 weeks after your deposit has been received by Unity College after Mid-April. Returning students billing is sent Mid-June.
I am not doing my Nova Orientation until later. Why am I being billed now?
All students are billed for Nova in their first semester of enrollment regardless of when completed.
