Mark Alter gave the keynote address on early childhood education in Romania in June 2016 and in July was the keynote speaker on special education in Crete. In May 2017 Mark was off to Romania again to do a presentation to the European Education Council made up of twenty countries.
Jack Levy is a semi-retired Physical Therapist working with his patients in their homes.
Frank Longo is retired and enjoying life in Florida and his 4 year old grandson, Dylan.
Lou Abramson is retired after teaching for over forty years. Sue is still working so Louie helps take care of his granddaughter for his son and daughter-in -aw when they are at work.
Tim Biggs, still working at Hidden Valley Camp and Pam (Gallik) ‘74, an Early Childhood Education Consultant, have been married 40 years. Their son Gus is hiking the Appalachian Trail, daughter Rachel is married and living in Alaska and daughter Caitlin lives in Phoenix.
Fred Dearnley has retired from running the printing service at University of Maine at Farmington.
Roxanna (Kelley) Morse is retiring this year as librarian at Belfast Area High School after 40 years in education. She has been on sick leave this past year being treated for lymphoma, and is looking at having a bone marrow transplant.
Tom Shelley has moved to Maine. He is a retired Superintendent of Hamilton NJ Water Pollution Control.
Nancy Tracy has a new position as Regional English Learner/Title III Coordinator at EdAdvance in Litchfield, CT. Sarah and Matthew are both farming in New England and Danny is in Colorado.
Charlie Davis is President of Davis Builders in Belgrade.
Alan Raflo received a 25-year Service Recognition from Virginia Tech where he is Research Associate. He loves doing audio for Virginia Water Radio.
Tom Hurlburt is still working for TMC Smartphones.
Dan Bernkopf’s daughter Rachel just completed a 9-month Asia trip teaching in Thailand, son Adam is getting married in October, and daughter Lisa is running her first marathon. Dan is the Vice President at SafetyChain Software.
Keith Chadbourne retired in 2015. He traveled to Alaska and Vancouver in 2016 and to Klamath Falls and Crater Lake this year.
Marie (Gendreau) Pelletier and Gary have been running their business, Hillside Automotive Center in Hartford for 32 years and have been married for 36 years. They have a daughter Lindsey and two granddaughters, Claire 5 and Callie 2.
Michael Lavender is an attorney for the Center for Divorce Mediation and also works in Elder Law.
Don Miller became a grandfather twice in 2016, Hannah in August and Alejandro in December.
Phil and Lia Pouech are now grandparents. His son Zach and finance had a girl Margaret. Son Ezra is in San Francisco and daughter Emma lives nearby. Phil is Director of Operations at AllEarth Renewables, and also Select board Chairman in Hinesburg, VT.
Trenetta Saba has her own photography studio, Saba’s Photography in Waterville and also is a Mary Kay Consultant. She has two grandchildren.
Rusty Myers is retired from his roofing business. He sees Dean McAllister (‘78) often.
Pam Roberts is Shipping Coordinator at Allied Universal in Texas. Her third grandchild is due this summer.
Bruce Arral is a chef at Bebe’s Burritos in Saco.
Diane Byers co-organized a symposium studying plant pollinator interactions in changing environments for the Botany 2016 meetings, and the papers are in a special issue of Applications in Plant Sciences. She is an Associate Professor of Botany at Illinois State University.
Mark Caron is in his 34th year with the Maine Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife and is still Regional Wildlife Biologist. He met up with Sasha (Ellsworth) Dyer (‘95) at the National Wild Turkey Federation Meeting in Nashville in February. He is looking forward to a visit with Bob Maietta (‘81) and Kim Larrabee (‘82) in July.
Matt Mattus is now a Director and Trustee of the Tower Hill Botanic Garden. He has a gardening blog “Growing with Plants” and is writing a book on vegetable gardening. Matt recently took a trip to Iceland.
Bob and Tammy (McBreairty) MacGovern have moved back to Maine. Bob retired from the Army Corps of Engineers Hydrographic Surveys in May.
Steve Smith is still Chief Information Officer for the Cambridge public schools, has specialized in K-12 Student Data Privacy and travels around the country talking on the topic. His wife Ellen is now full-time Faculty at Capella University and their children Chris and Kayla are 28 and 27.
Doug Stover has traveled to over 67 countries as Advisor to the UN on World Heritage Sites working on projects ranging from sea level rise, climate change, cultural landscapes and historic restoration. He has an 18 month old grandson
Bruce Desmond hiked to the top of the Continental Divide in Estes Park, CO in June. He is a Sales and Marketing Representative for Servpro.
Jim Morrissey just published a new field guide Tactical Medical Field Guide. His Wilderness Medical Field Guide has been translated into ten languages. He is still ALCO EMS Supervisor, MHOAC Terrorism Preparedness Director and Senior FBI SWAT Tactical Medical Specialist.
Billy Schwab has been doing mission work, building homes, installing water filtration systems and feeding the hungry in Guatemala for the last four years. He is District Sales Manager for Bai Brands.
Mark Bessette is the owner of MSB Management Group Inc. which offers project management and consulting primarily in the food service area. He collects Lionel vintage (1945-69) toy trains hoping to build his dream layout when he retires.
Ken Jones is building a biorefinery in Florida turning waste material into a variety of materials used in construction and food products. He has been to Norway and South Africa to learn best green practices.
Gary Zane has been inducted into the Legacy Hall of Fame of the US Collegiate Athletic Association for 2017-18. He has retired as Unity’s Dean of Students.
Patti (Emmons) Poff teaches K-4 STEAM (STEM plus Art) at Byram Lakes. Greg is the Sussex County (NJ) Administrator. They have two children, Vance just graduated from 8th grade and Catherine starts 7th grade next year.
Grant Lockwood is a self-employed professional hunter.
John Middleton is in his 25th year with Wilsonart. He has a 3 year old granddaughter, McKinliegh.
Judy Parker’s daughter Katy graduated from high school this year and took college courses in 11th and 12th grade. She is close to receiving an Associate degree and already has certification to teach preschool children. Katy was home schooled the entire time and she also has her own photography business. Judy is a pet care provider.
Rick and Cammie Roy are going to China this fall to adopt a little boy. Their son Kinnon was drafted by the Portland (OR) River Monsters to play semi-pro indoor lacrosse. Rick is still a BLM Field Manager at Three Rivers Resource Area and also runs Steens Mountain Brewing Company.
John Jurczynski and Ann Rasmussen competed again in the Race Across America on a tandem bike from Oceanside, CA to Annapolis, MD in June. They had to drop out in Colorado due to the heat and health issues. John and Ann were married July 20, 2017.
Dodi Marvell has retired after teaching Special Ed for 25 years. She is enjoying her garden and her art studio.
Nick Moros is back in Pittsburgh with Alcoa as a Casting Process Technician after two years with the same company in Indiana. He keeps in touch with Joe Freire (‘85) and Mark Ramela (‘87)

Tracy (Goldstein) Quigley is still teaching 5th grade, Dave is a Lieutenant with the NJ State Police and they have two children in college and one in high school.

Loren Raymond met up with Mike Andrews for the first time since graduation, and plans to come to Maine for a visit, her first trip back in thirty years.
Steve Tetreault and his wife Pat got their commercial drivers’ licenses in June 2016 and in August started driving for Schneider National all over the US.
Diane Borden-Billiot’s daughter Sabine Rose is transferring to Unity this fall to complete her BS in Adventure Therapy. Diane is in her 28th year of federal service and is the Visitor Services Manager at the Southwest LA National Wildlife Refuge Complex.
Greg Burr is still State Regional Fisheries Biologist for Downeast Maine. His son is at Unity hoping to become a fisheries biologist too.
Jean Crankshaw and Cathy Mariner were married June 16, 2017. Jean is in her 20th year working at the Federal Animal Hospital in Hobe Sound, FL.
Chris Beratta is a Cannabis Seed Salesman living in Panama with his son Dennis who is 8. They have traveled around the country in their RV, visiting state parks and historical sites.

Marie (Morenc) Barker is moving west as a US Bureau of Prisons Correctional Systems Officer in California until June and then Cold Springs, NV. She plans to retire in five years.
Gabriele (Pap-Nemes) Spaziani is an embroiderer for Stadium Systems and has her own sewing and repair business. She is engaged to Shawn Orbanic.
Kevin Sheridan has a new job as Customer Service Rep for the IRS. He and Marian have been married for 26 years and have two sons, 22 and 19.
Eric Swindell owns a woodturning business, Detorno. He will be building a new home this fall with a storefront for his business.
Mike Bryan ran up Mt. Washington on June 17. He works for North Country Independent Living in North Conway.
John Lozinski shot the Maine big game grand slam in 2013 – a turkey, bear, deer and moose. He is looking forward to hunting mule deer in Wyoming for his 50th birthday. John is a retired Augusta Police Officer and a Maine Guide.

Jim Dowd runs the technology marketing company, Flying Car that he cofounded. He and Sharon and the children, Rebecca 13 and Aiden 9, spent several weeks in the Netherlands this spring.
Tracey Hall was named State Facilitator of the Year by the Council on Environmental Education and Project Wild. She is Camp Director for the Audubon Society of RI.
Matt McClintock’s daughter Shelby graduated from Unity in 2017. He is still a Mass. Environmental Police Officer and a member of the Coast Guard Reserve.
Lenore Reitze teaches 4th grade in Winslow. Her twin daughters, Rachel and Autumn have been extras in several movies and are headed to Georgia in September to audition for more.
Tony and Krista Sabilia have two children in college and two in high school. Krista teaches chemistry and physics in high school. Tony owns his own business, FastSigns in Waterford, CT and is running for a seat on the Ledyard Town Council this year. Tony sees Jay Miner (‘84) frequently.
Joe Benedict is Assistant Chief of Wildlife with the TN Wildlife Resources Agency. He and Linsdey moved from Florida to the Nashville area for more opportunities for Lindsey’s singing and performing career. Their son Joseph is 13 and helps on their 9 acre chicken farm.
Tammy Ciesla is taking Brosna to the Canadian Nationals for Irish Red and White Setters in June, and in May she showed her first Irish setter pup at the dog show in Keene, NH.
Rod Clergy is Baggage Transport System Controller and Baggage Security Systems Controller at the Frankfurt Germany International Airport.
Paula (Giek) Shortreed is an Occupational Therapist at Columbine Health Systems in Fort Collins, CO. She received her Masters in 2013 from Colorado State. She has been married for 21 years and has a daughter who is senior at Univ. of CO/Boulder and a son who is a freshman at Front Range Community College.
Keith Kinkead has a new job as Branch Manager at Bath Fitter in Garner, NC.
Todd Papianou teaches physical education and coaches tennis and alpine skiing at Mountain Valley High School. He has sold his Northern Waters canoe and kayak business enabling him to take a 12,000 mile cross continent driving tour visiting national parks and all the top mountain bike venues in the US and Canada. He worked at LLBean Outdoor Discovery School last summer.

Jim McKnight is a police officer in Shelburne,VT and Chairman of the Dead Creek Chapter of Ducks Unlimited. He and Mackenzie have a son Greyson who is 3.

Nicole Salotti is still running JamaicaEscapes, which is a booking agent for villa rentals and get-away vacations in Jamaica.

Denise (Beach) Buckley is still a Fisheries Biologist at Craig Brook & Green Lake National Fish Hacheries, and Jim (‘92) is likely to retire next year from the Bangor Police Department. He works part time at a local gun and sporting goods store.
Joyce-Eva (Rutledge) Smith teaches Life Sciences and Outdoor Education at Schenck High School in East Millinocket. Joyce climbed Katahdin twice last year. Her daughter Erin is working as an instructor in after school programs.

George Speidel is off to Jackson Hole, WY in April to start his new job as line cook at a resort. He is completing his certification in wildlife rehabilitation.

Connie (Berube) Berry works for the family business selling DISH, Directv, Fairpoint, Hughesnet and Spectrum. She and Neil have a daughter Jasmine age 12.
Barney Bonito is still doing videos for Adventures on the Gorge on weekends, but has a full time job as Director of Summersville Television.

John Blais received a Graduate Certificate from the Muskie School at the University of Southern Maine and also was promoted to Real Property Director for the Maine State Department of General Services. Pam is Vice Principal at Benton Elementary School. Their son Jack made the Olympic Development Soccer team for Maine and daughter Brooke is a softball pitcher.
Tom O’Rourke is in his 19th year as a Lieutenant in the Training Unit of NJ Division of Fish & Wildlife Bureau of Law Enforcement. Son Tiernan is a senior in high school and daughter Skyler will be a freshman this fall.

Barry Meserve has been promoted to Sergeant in the Maine State Police K-9 Unit and oversees the troopers in the Bangor area.
Kevin Oldenburg is in his 16th year as a Park Ranger at Roosevelt-Vanderbilt National Historic Site. He was on “The View” on June 9 talking about his marrow donation and on C-SPAN on June 17 being interviewed at FDR’s retreat Top Cottage.
Kyle Rosenberg is city arborist for Bath and also runs his own Forest to Shore landscape and forest service business. Daughter Madysyn will be a freshman at University of Maine this fall to study international affairs. Dean goes into third grade and Elsie starts first grade.

Jennie Lindsay and Andrea Kelley were married June 10, 2017. Jennie was promoted to Whole Health Coordinator at the Primary Care Clinic at the Brockton Veteran Affairs Medical Center.
Jeffrey Moody is a Cumberland County Master Corrections Officer and was just promoted to Sergeant. Heis also a Deputy Sheriff. He and Shari have two children, Sadie 8 who is in 4th grade REACH, a gifted and talented program and Jack who is 3.
Nate Purinton has been promoted to Senior Chief Petty Officer and is moving from San Diego to assume command of Coast Guard Station Philadelphia. Daughter Cecilia is 4.
Steve Betts is still with the Pennsylvania Dept. of Transportation.He and Shannon will celebrate their 17th anniversary in October. Their daughters are 21 and 17 and the twins are 11.
Andrew Chapman owns Chapman Construction in Waldoboro and is busy building vacation houses in the Boothbay area. He and Vanessa will celebrate their 8th anniversary this fall and have three children, Keenan 7, Mason 5 and Ainsley 2 1/2.

Wally Opuszynski has a new job as Recreation Field Specialist for the Vermont Dept. of Forests, Parks and Recreation. He will be covering half the state focusing on recreation management on state lands. Wally and Kyle have a daughter Haley Mae born in April.

Frank Sloup is a Sergeant with the Maricopa County (AZ) Sheriff’s Office and also the DUI Coordinator for the Lake Patrol. He has a Masters in Leadership from Grand Canyon University.
Sarah (Starbird) Marshall is a school nurse in Grand Rapids, Michigan and also has a small hobby farm. She and Chase, who is in the Forest Service, have a daughter Kenady who is in sixth grade.
Joel Bailey is general manager at Chickadee Business Solutions, a photographer at Hidden Fox Photography and a Shamanic Practitioner in Biddeford.
David Bolanowski has a new position at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center – he is now a Business Analyst for Academic Information Systems.
Paul Meinersmann is Technology Manager in the St. George School and runs a program giving access to new technologies (laser cutter, 3D printer etc.) for K-8 students. Becky (Moore) (‘02) homeschools Rioux 11, who is a dancer and will be performing in Hershey Park this summer and Tilia 8, who is on the local gymnastics team.
Jenn (Miller) Ryan is Supervisor of Imaging Sciences and Phenotyping at Jackson Lab. She and Ed have built a home in Bar Harbor.
Yolanda Mosonyi is a Registered Dietitian at Southern New Hampshire Medical Center in Nashua, and works part time as an emergency vet tech at the Veterinary Emergency Center of Manchester.
Ed Spaulding is still Executive Director at Northland Adventure, but he works with several mental health organizations integrating people with disabilities into the community. He is trying to finish his dissertation for his PhD in Clinical Health Psychology.
Nate Swisher is Ranger Foreman for the town of Danvers, Massachusetts and oversees a staff of five rangers. He stepped down from the Hamilton Police Department to spend more time with the family. The twins, Katherine and Emmaline are 6.
Jeremy and Melissa Floyd have a son Oscar Steven Zelaya-Floyd born July 12, 2017. Jeremy is a middle school Special Education teacher at the Brunswick REAL School.
Becky (Maddox) Blais was promoted in 2016 to Oil and Hazardous Materials Specialist and is working as a Project Manager in the Brownfields and Voluntary Response Action Program at the DEP. Phil (‘03) works at Meadow Park Development, and they have two children, Jacob 6 and Elizabeth 4 1/2.

Burch Owens and her husband Santino Pasquini have a son Frankie born August 2015 and are expecting a daughter in August 2017. Burch works at California Fish & Wildlife.
John Roma is a Police Officer in Brunswick and guides for moose hunting in the fall.
Brock Sainsbury is a restaurant manager at Tower 12 in Hermosa Beach, CA. Alissa (Crowley) (‘01) makes flower arrangements for her own company Metal Daisy. They do a lot of climbing in Joshua Tree.
Jason Bosco is a detective with the Maine State Police Computer Crimes Unit. He and Rebekah have two daughters, Aubri 10 and Riley 8.
Josh Chambers owns Ecusta Brewing Co. (formerly Drift) and opened two breweries at once in 2016 in Brevard and Pisgah Forest, NC.
Amy-Sue (Littlefield) Marden and her husband Tim own Marden’s Lawn and Garden Care. They are also raising Hereford and Jersey cows. They coach a town baseball team, the Morrill Bulldogs, which their son Tucker, age 8, plays on.
Vinny Marotta was the subject of a story in the June 5, 2017 Bangor Daily News about the tiny house he built in Thorndike. He is in his 12th summer as caretaker of Jewell Island for the Maine Island Trails Association. He and Kelsy Ross have a daughter Rhea who is 1 1/2.
Ashley Messner is a realtor for Better Homes and Gardens in Belfast. She has two children: Lennen 9 and Camille-Blue 6.
Karrie (Shue) Saltalamachia is a Center Manager with Lincare. She ran a half marathon in June and is training for a full one in October. Joe (‘94) is Director of Admissions at Unity.

Heather Chappel is a Doctor of Pharmacy and works at Walgreens Pharmacy in Chicopee, MA.
Sarah Ferland is a middle school Consumer and Family Science Teacher and is working on her Masters in Mental Health Counseling. She has two children, Rosalie and Ryder.
Carol Moulton is an Environmental Investigator for the Texas Commission of Environmental Quality, Water Division. She competed in two North American Strongman competitions, and plans to compete again this year.
Brooke (Simpson) McKay is a State Park Ranger at Sebago Lake State Park.
Tom Oliva just finished his 12th year with the New York Police Department and is now the Field Training Officer to the new recruits in his precinct.
Jamie Pacheco teaches Social Studies and Science and is also Student Council Advisor at Bristol-Plymouth Regional Technical School in Taunton, Massachusetts.

Corree (Seward) and Joe Delabrue have a daughter Gavia Torrey born May 27, 2017. Corree is a US Forest Service Park Ranger District Interpreter at Tongass National Forest in Alaska.
Lyndsey Smith is still working at the Bryant Pond 4-H Center, but she has a new position as the Coordinator of the Aspiration Incubator Project based from Telstar Middle and High Schools.
Bryon Harris (‘06) provides after school care for elementary students at Crescent Park School in Bethel. He and his wife run an Airbnb business out of their home called Heartwood Farmhouse.

Keith Crowley and Jenny Galasso were married October 15, 2016. He is Associate Director of School Programs at Chewonki and is hosting a summer program for a two week mentoring program and is using Zach Schmesser’s (‘08) New England Mobile Showers for the group’s housing facilities.
Steve Denette and Alix Kreder are building a 38 foot wooden sailboat from scratch and plan to sail around the world. They are doing a running video documentation of the whole thing, “Acorn to Arabella”.
Greg Hodsdon and Molly West (‘10) have a son Parker born July 14, 2017. Greg is owner operator of Heads or Tails Guide Service, an airboat fishing and duck hunting guide service. Molly is a nurse at Driscoll Children’s Hospital.
Ryan Howes was chosen to compete in the qualifier for American Ninja Warrior in Cleveland, Ohio in May. He is now an Integrative Nutrition Health and Wellness Coach. He is running the Hills to the Sea Trail – Unity to Belfast this summer to raise money to help with Cody Floyd’s (‘11) heart transplant.
Meredith (Kellogg) Josselyn has her own publishing company, Heart of Maine Publishing and is publishing her own environmental children’s book. She is Market Coordinator for the Dexter Farmers Marker. Nick is Bioassay Coordinator at Clearwater Lab and their two daughters, Abigail and Rosemary are 4 and 3.

Justin Merrill and Denise Chandler are engaged and have a son Bryson age 4. Justin is Environmental Coordinator/Wastewater Operator at Cherryfield Foods, and also owns Wild Maine Outdoors which produces books and videos. He writes a column “On the Prowl” for Northwoods Sporting Journal.
Keith Murphy is working on a Masters in Teaching in the Advanced Inquiry Program through Miami (OH) University in partnership with the Wildlife Conservation Society (Bronx Zoo). He takes his classes at the zoo.
Sarah (Ogden) Smith both works and volunteers at the Maine Wildlife Park, and has also been in the Army National Guard for four years. Paul has his arborist license but works for a trucking and excavation company. Daughter Victoria will be two in September.

Andrew Fleming is the Program Manager for Environmental and Regulatory Compliance for Telecommunications at Advantages Environmental. Sam (Chisholm) is a Law Enforcement Specialist for US Fish & Wildlife at their headquarters in Falls Church, Virginia. They are expecting a baby in September, 2017.
Julie (Ladd) Waters received her Master’s in Criminal Justice with concentration in Forensic Science from Saint Leo University in May. She is a Federal Law Enforcement Officer at Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore.
