Kurt Alan Anderson Named Development Officer/Grants Writer
Anderson will be responsible for: grant writing in service to college-wide goals; development of profiles on new foundations including local, state and federal agencies; managing a portfolio of selected gift prospects; advancement of cultivation and solicitation strategies; and project management on a variety of print and web projects related to college-wide initiatives. Anderson will also update profiles on organizations with which Unity College has existing relationships as well as match the interests of foundations with funding priorities of the College for mutual benefit.
Most recently, Anderson served as Land Project Coordinator for Maine Farmland Trust (MFT) where, among other duties, he coordinated landowners and professional staff to secure agricultural easements and fee simple interest in farms and farmland. At MFT, Anderson also pursued and secured public grants to help support land protection efforts.
Prior to his position at MFT, Anderson served as a Regional Biologist for Ducks Unlimited, coordinating all aspects of habitat conservation for waterfowl and other wildlife in the Mid- and North Atlantic regions, including project identification, budget creation and maintenance, professional services, permitting, and construction management.
Anderson holds a Bachelor of Science in Fisheries and Wildlife from Michigan State University in East Lansing, Michigan and a Master of Science degree in Wildlife Ecology from the University of Delaware in Newark, Delaware.
