The camps offer families fun, healthful, educational activities amid the splendor of Unity’s 225-acre campus overlooking Unity Pond.

America’s Environmental College is a great place to spend your summer, whether you’re elementary school age and looking for a summer day camp, or entering college and looking to get a head start, Unity College has something for you.

The camps are Mad Science Summer Camp, the Unity College Soccer Camp, and the popular Unity College Warden Camp.

Mad Science Summer Day Camp

Mad Science summer camps and vacation programs give kids the opportunity to learn about science using interactive and hands-on science activities. Children become junior scientists for the summer and embark on a series of science-based adventures.

Hosted by trained, reliable, and dynamic instructors, some of the activities will have children diving into electricity with Squishy Circuits and mini Van De Graff sticks, experiencing chemical phenomena with crazy concoctions, creating cool gases, electroplating coins, and making crystals. Campers will learn about power and energy by building chemical batteries and solar power devices. They will use lasers to send music across the room and print three-dimensional holograms.

The camp is held rain or shine 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. June 27 through July 1 for youth ages 6 to 12 entering grades 1 through 6 in the fall. The fee is $300, which includes hot lunch each day. To register, click here.

Rams Soccer Day Camp

The primary focus of this camp is to increase the skill level of each player with practice, drills, and scrimmaging.

Regular team games will be played each day, with special emphasis on getting each player many touches with the ball through the use of small-sided games. The camp also will include daily goalkeeper training sessions with special prizes and awards (Camper of the Day) along with great instruction. Each session is age-appropriate and will demand maximum concentration and effort.

The camp is offered to boys and girls entering grades 4 through 10 in the fall, 8:15 a.m. to 3:15 p.m. June 27 through July 1. The $200 fee includes hot lunch each day. Register here.

Unity Warden Camp

Ever wonder what it would be like to be a state game warden, federal wildlife agent, marine patrol officer, or environmental police officer? Come to Unity College, the home of the Unity College Conservation Law Enforcement program, and learn from real wardens and conservation officers for a week or two.

Campers age 16 to 19 will have the opportunity to interact with Maine Game Wardens, state conservation law enforcement officers from throughout New England, and federal government employees. They will learn skills and participate in search-and-rescue lessons, map-and-compass training, wildlife and fisheries identification, patrol tactics and techniques, crime scene investigation, and wildlife forensics.

The two-week program is designed so campers may attend either or both weeks. Because instructors are active wardens, the schedule is subject to change.

The camp is offered July 10 – 16 and July 17 – 23. Register here for one or two weeks. The fee is $800 per week or $1,500 for two weeks, which includes food and housing.
