Campus Safety

24 hours per day

7 days per week

The Office of Public Safety ensures the safety of our campus community. The office of Public Safety is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and can be reached by calling 207-509-7232.

All emergencies and fire alarms are responded to by the officer on duty. Emergency paging systems are located strategically around campus for students to contact the officer on duty in case help is needed.  The public safety officer also has the ability to alert the campus community to crisis situations.  Our public safety office also services all parking, vehicle registration, driver certification and firearm registration needs. For the active shooter protocol, click here.

The Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act

In 1990, Congress passed the Crime Awareness and Campus Security Act (CACSA) amendments to the Higher Education Act of 1965 (HEA). Amendments to CACSA in 1998 renamed the law the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act (the Clery Act) in memory of a student who was murdered in her dorm room. In 2013, Congress passed the Violence Against Women Reauthorization Act (VAWA), which included additional amendments to the Clery Act.

The Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act requires all colleges and universities that participate in federal financial aid programs to keep and disclose information about crime on and near their respective campuses.
