In 1989 the Exxon Valdez spilled 11 million gallons of crude oil into Alaskan waters and one woman made a decision. She stripped her investment from Exxon and poured it into the minds of the people who might be able to fix it. She poured it into Unity College. In 2012, the college made a decision of its own. We wanted to set a precedent for sustainability. And decided to divest the college’s entire endowment from every one of top 200 fossil fuel companies.Nearly a hundred percent of Unity’s students move on to make decisions like these everyday. They feed, they build, they adapt. And they pave the way for those who will follow. When it’s your time, and with a cap on your head and a gown at your back, you take a deep breath in and smile.
We’ll know you’re ready.
Ready to make the kinds of decisions that people will talk about for a long time.
