If you’ve finished one+ years at community college, are moving from another institution, or are looking to build a stronger career, we’re ready to hear your story and help make sure your transition goes smoothly. We’ll make sure you receive maximum credits for course work already completed and can help you explore a degree program that fits your goals and interests. Unity College considers a transfer student to be anyone with 12 or more post-secondary credits. Any student with fewer than 12 credits is considered a first-year student and should expore their admissions and visit options here.

Application Deadlines for Transfer Students

  • Spring Admission: December 15
  • Fall Admission:  Rolling until July 15

The above dates are recommended to guarantee placement for accepted students, but applications may be considered on a space-available basis beyond these dates.

  2. Submit an official transcript from each college and/or proprietary school attended, whether or not credit was earned (and a high school transcript, if you earned fewer than 15 credits in college) to:Unity College Admissions

  3. Sign up for one of our Transfer Tuesday events for a tour, an instant admissions decision, a financial aid appointment, a career counseling session, and/or a transfer credit evaluation – either in person or virtually! Although this is optional, it will offer you a personalized one-stop shop transfer experience.
  4. Applying for Financial Aid (Optional)
    Please complete the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) as soon as possible to maximize all sources of financial aid, including federal grants and loans. We are happy to provide you with a personalized financial aid package, as well as financing options.  Spring students should complete the 2017-18 FAFSA.  Fall students should file the 2018-19 FAFSA.

Transferring Credits to Unity College

Transfer students in good academic standing may be awarded up to 90 credit hours towards a Unity College bachelor’s degree from previous institutions. Courses counting as electives may not exceed 40 credit hours. Students must have earned a “C” or higher in order for the credit to be accepted in transfer.

Courses offered for transfer should be comparable to courses at Unity College, but other courses will be considered if appropriate to the student’s program of study.

Scholarships and Financial Aid for Transfer Students

Unity College offers two kinds of merit-based scholarships for qualifying transfer students: the Transfer-Trustee Scholarship offering up to $10,000 per year, and the Transfer Scholarship giving up to $8,000 per year. In addition, transfer students may qualify for personalized financial aid packages based on their personal need.

Get your Bachelor’s Degree in Two Years

Students who have already completed an Associate’s Degree may qualify for automatic acceptance with the following conditions:

  • Have an Associate’s degree (60 credits) from an accredited institution.
  • Achieved a 2.5 GPA or higher.
  • Taken and received a C or better in a college level math course.

Transfer students will have to submit an official transcript to be automatically accepted. 

Once you’re accepted our transfer counselors will work with you, and you may be able to complete your bachelor’s degree in just two years.
